Zapier Configuration: Generate a Social Media Post for Each New Job Posting in SchoolFront – SchoolFront

If you have completed the prerequisite steps required before Zapier configuration can begin, follow these instructions to produce a social media post every time a new job posting is created in SchoolFront with the "Post to Job Board" checkbox checked. This configuration example explains how to configure a social media posting for LinkedIn, but other social media platforms may be substituted.

A. Login to Zapier

Open a web browser and navigate to https://zapier.com/app/login
Enter the email you used when you created the Zapier account for your organization and click the Continue button.
Enter the password you used when you created the Zapier account for your organization and click the Continue button.

B. Create a New Zap

Click the orange +Create button in the upper left corner of the screen.
Select Zaps from the list.
In the upper left corner of the screen click the pencil icon and change the name of your zap from "Untitled Zap" to something like "Share Single Job Postings."

C. Configure a Trigger

In Zapier, the word "trigger" refers to the event that causes the zap to initiate. --In this example, the trigger will be a new job posting.

User your cursor to select the Trigger box. The Choose trigger dialog will open.
In the Choose trigger dialog type RecruitFront in the Search field.
From the list, select RecruitFront - Job Posting (1.0.15).
In the Event field, select New Job Posting.
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Click the Choose button to Choose an Account.
Click +Connect a new Account.
Enter the username and password you got from the SchoolFront Support Team for the purpose of linking SchoolFront to Zapier.
Click the orange button that says Yes, Continue to RecruitFront - Job Posting (1.0.15).
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Click the Test trigger button.
The test should return at least 1 record if you have active job postings with "Post to Job Board" in SchoolFront.
Select the radio button for the top record if it is not already selected.
Click the Continue with selected record button.
Click the Action box. The Choose action dialog will open.
In the Choose action dialog type LinkedIn into the Search field.
Select LinkedIn from the returned list.
In the Event field, select Create Company Update.
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Click the Choose button to Choose an Account.
Click +Connect a new Account.
Enter the username and password for your social media account (in this case LinkedIn). LinkedIn is a secure partner with Zapier. Your credentials are encrypted & can be removed at any time.
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
In the LinkedIn Company Page field select the page to which you wish to share your SchoolFront job postings.
In the Update Content field use the data markers and typed text to formulate the message that will automatically post when a new job posting is added to SchoolFront. The data markers come from SchoolFront and will be replaced by job posting data when job postings are shared on LinkedIn.
In the Allow Mentions in content field select false.
In the Preview - URL field search for URL in the Insert Data search field.
Select the item that begins with Job Posting U R L.
In the Preview - Thumbnail Image field enter the URL for your organization's logo (for example, you can use the URL of the logo on your RecruitFront Portal).
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Optional - Enter a Preview Title (you can use data markers if you wish).
Optional - Enter a Preview - Description (you can use data markers if you wish).
Click the Continue
Click the Continue button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Click the Test step button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Go to the Company LinkedIn page to see the post and confirm it is formatted as you desired.
If it looks the way you want it to, go back to the Zapier configuration interface and click the Publish button. When a new job posting is added to SchoolFront, Zapier will automatically share the content to LinkedIn at a routine cadence in this format.
