Introduction
Sharing job postings to social media audiences increases job posting exposure, improving the odds of great candidates seeing and applying to them. SchoolFront uses a "middleware" technology called "Zapier" to share job postings created in SchoolFront on social media pages like Facebook and LinkedIn.
Why Use Zapier?
While it is perfectly okay to add RecruitFront job posting URLs to your district's social media pages manually, Zapier will share district job postings to district social media pages automatically.
Zapier configuration may seem a bit complicated / tedious but keep in mind that configuration only needs to be completed one time. Once configured, the exchange of job posting content between SchoolFront, Zapier, and your social media accounts will be automatic.
What Does the Content Look Like on Social Media?
Job postings can be shared to social media with Zapier either individually or in groups ("batches") of job postings.
- Batch of Job Postings Shared in a Single Post - Zapier will check SchoolFront for any new job postings created in SchoolFront that have the "Post to Job Board" checkbox checked AND that have not yet been shared in a previous batch job posting share and will create a single social media post with all job postings meeting this criteria.
This format works really well on Facebook and will typically not generate so many posts that other Facebook posts from your account are overwhelmed with job posting content.
- Pro: Sharing job postings in a batch reduces the number of social media posts created for job postings so that your social media followers are not "spammed" with job posting content.
- Con: Social media posts may be quite lengthy if many job postings appear in a single batch.
Batch Job Posting Example - Facebook
- Single Job Posting Share - Posts on social media (such as Facebook or LinkedIn) are triggered when a new job posting is created in SchoolFront and the "Post to Job Board" checkbox is checked.
This type of post works well on LinkedIn where people are specifically seeking information about employment opportunities and won't be annoyed or overwhelmed by frequent posts of this nature.
- Pro: Each job posting will be shared to social media in its own concise post, unobscured by other content.
- Con: You may end up "spamming" your social media followers with an overwhelming amount of job posting content if you post new jobs frequently or in close succession.
