In SchoolFront, Data Grids display all available data pertaining to the page you are on, in column format. If you do not need all of the columns and would like to hide some or rearrange the order of them for your purposes, you can create and use custom data grid layouts. Changing the layout of these Data Grids will only apply to your personal SchoolFront experience, it will not change the layout for all users.

How to Create a Custom Data Grid Layout
From any SchoolFront page that has a Data Grid:
-
Select the "Manage Layout" icon at the top of the page:
- The Grid Layout pop-up will display:
- Create a Custom Layout (Column Sorts and Filters) for Records in a Data Grid (FINISH Updating and ADDING HERE)
Edit an Existing Custom Data Grid Layout
- Select an existing custom data grid name from the Layouts drop-down menu
-
Click the "Manage Layout" icon
-
The Grid Layout window will open; the Selected Grid Columns box lists the current columns and column ordering settings
- Select column names in the list by clicking on them. Multi-select column names by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and clicking on them.
Note: "Pinned" / "Frozen" columns (e.g. "Last Name" and "ID" Number) will always be displayed and will not be available to add, remove, or move in custom grid layouts. If a column name is missing in this window, it's probably because it is a pinned/frozen data column.
- Use the "Show All," "Show Selected," "Remove Selected," and "Remove All" buttons to choose which columns you want to display in your custom layout
- Use the "Move First," "Move Up," "Move Down," and "Move Last" buttons to rearrange the display order of the columns
-
Once you have made changes to your columns in term of names and order in the Selected Grid Column, then click on the appropriate radial button to either "Update Existing Layout" or Copy to New Layout"
- Confirm that the name of your layout in the Grid Layout Name text box is correct. Make changes to it if you want to
- Enter or edit your Grid Layout Description (optional)
- Click the Save
The custom layout will be applied to the grid and will be available to you in the future in the Layout drop-down menu at the top of the menu.
Deleting a Grid Layout
If a layout is created by an Administrator, only an Administrator may delete the layout. If a user creates their own layout, they may delete it, but they cannot delete a layout that was created by an Administrator.
