In SchoolFront, districts have the ability to set approvers for employee Timecards. Districts can also determine if the employee should be an approver on their own Timecard. This article will explain the steps for setting up and assigning approvers to Timecards.

Timecard Approver Setup
Approvers must be setup before they can be assigned to a Position or Position Staff.
- Navigate to Time & Attendance > Setup > Approvals > and click on
- The lower half of your screen will display the "Details" of your new approver:
- Enter Name - Usually the position of the approver, for example "Principal"
- Select the Approver from the dropdown menu of employees
- Enter any necessary comments if desired
- Click "Insert" to add the Approver, or "Insert and Add Another" to continue adding Approvers
Assign Approvers 1-3
Users assigned as Approvers 1-3 on either the Position or Position Staff can override content on the timecard only. Totals Tab overrides and Timecard Locking are an Elevated User function*

Same Approvers for all Staff in a Position
Approval set on the Position apply top all Position Staff expect when overridden at the Staff Position.
- Navigate to Positions and click on the Position you are adding the approvers for by clicking the magnifying glass
- Click "Edit" in the Details section on the lower half of your screen
- Scroll to the Timecard Approval Options section
- Select the Approver from the dropdown menu for Approval 1
- If you have multiple approval levels for Timecards, you can select an Approval 2 and Approval 3 as well
- Scroll to the bottom and click "Save"
Define Unique Settings for Individual Position Staff
- Navigate to "Staff Positions" and locate the Staff Member you wish to edit (filter/sort by employee ID or name) and click the magnifying glass. *Note: Be sure to select the correct entry if they have multiple positions.

- Click Edit in the Details section of the Staff Member
- Scroll to the Timecard Approval section select the Approver from the dropdown menu for Approval 1
- If your district has multiple approval levels for Timecards, you can also select an Approval 2 and 3 here as well
*Note: You cannot enable the employee to approve their own timecard from this screen
- Click Save
Allow Position Staff to Approve their own Timecard
Staff can be setup to approve their own timecards. What staff can and can not edit on their timecards is configurable on their Position. By default, they can only add comments to their timecard.
- Navigate to Positions and click on the Position you are adding the approvers for by clicking the magnifying glass
- Click "Edit" in the Details section on the lower half of your screen
- Check the box "Employee Can Approve" if you wish to enable Position Staff to approve their own Timecards*

Add Approvers with Mass Edit
You can edit several Positions that have the same approval pathway at once, by clicking "Mass Edit" in Positions:
- Navigate to Positions. Select the Positions you wish to edit by checking the boxes next to the magnifying glasses, then click "Mass Edit":
- Confirm the number of records you are editing and scroll to the Timecard Approval section
- Select the boxes and approvers from the dropdown menus. If the employee can approve, check that box and check "Enabled":
