When an employee submits an Absence Request Form, or any other type of form through SchoolFront, the form will route through a pre-determined approval pathway configured for that specific form by the District. If another employee is part of that approval routing, they will need to approve the form, following the steps below.
Applicable Roles:
An employee with any SchoolFront role can be and approver on an Absence Request form. No elevated role is necessary to be an approver on a form.
Approve an Absence Request Form
Approvers will receive an email notification when an employee submits an absence request letting them know they have an Absence Request to approve. This will appear on the Approver's SchoolFront Dashboard under their Items Requiring your Attention section.
- Click on the word "Process" after the line for Process Forms / Pending Approval to review and approve the submitted form:
- Click the magnifying glass for the Absence Request. Then click the "Review" button on the lower half of the screen:
NOTE: Do NOT click View Form or PDF as these options will not allow you to approve the form.
- The Form will appear with the absence request details and the employee's signature:
- To Approve the request, click the "Approve" button on the left and Sign in the red box, then click "Save":
- If Disapproving the Request, click the "Disapprove" button and add a note in the Activity Log Comments box to explain why it is being denied. Then sign in the red box and click "Save." The note in the box will be sent in to the submitting employee so they can fix the problem with the form and resubmit.
- Once an approver approves a form, they are always able to access the form by going to Process Forms / Forms I Approved from the left navigation menu and clicking the magnifying glass for the form you would like to view. One the lower half of the screen, click either View Form or PDF to view the form.
