In accordance with GASB standards for financial reporting and other NYS Education Law, OSC mandates, and NYSED requirements, school districts must report on accrued liability for their employees. School districts with SchoolFront's Time & Attendance program can run the Accrued Liability report through the Reports section for any Attendance Codes that have been configured to be tracked for this purpose.

Setting Up and Tracking an Absence Code for Accrued Liability Reporting
- Navigate to Time & Attendance / Setup / Attendance Groups:
- Click the magnifying glass next to the Attendance Group, then on the lower half of the screen click the Absence Code Contracts tab and click the New Absence Code button:
Please Note: Click the New Absence Code button whether you are editing or adding a new code to the attendance group. If editing, ensure that every setup option for the absence code is the same as it was before. Doing so will overwrite the code as previously entered.
- In the Add Absence Code window, under the Accrued Liability Settings section, check the box for "District Liable for Accrued Balance," enter the Liability Rate & Factor at which the code will be paid. Once completed, click the Save and Close button at the bottom of the window:
Running the Accrued Liability Report
- Navigate to Time & Attendance / Reports/Info / Accrued Liability
- Select a Fiscal year from the drop-down in the top left corner of the screen:
- Enter a calculation date and click the Update Calculation Date button:
- Filter the results (if necessary) and click the Export button above the grid to generate a record of your results:
