Accrued Liability Reporting

In accordance with GASB standards for financial reporting and other NYS Education Law, OSC mandates, and NYSED requirements, school districts must report on accrued liability for their employees. School districts with SchoolFront's Time & Attendance program can run the Accrued Liability report through the Reports section for any Attendance Codes that have been configured to be tracked for this purpose.

Requirements 

Attendance must be enabled in your district's SchoolFront system. If you would like more information regarding the Attendance program, please contact your Solution Architect.

Setting Up and Tracking an Absence Code for Accrued Liability Reporting

Navigate to: Attendance / Setup / Attendance Groups

  1. Click the magnifying glass next to the Attendance Group
  2. In the lower half of the screen click the Absence Code Contracts tab

  3. Click New Absence Code (For further information on Absence Codes, reference: Creating and Editing Absence Codes)

    1. If you are editing an Absence Code, click the Pencil icon (Please Note: When editing, ensure that every setup option for the absence code is the same as it was before; Doing so will overwrite the code as previously entered)

  4. In the Absence Code pop-up, under the Accrued Liability Settings section
    1. Check the box for District Liable for Accrued Balance
    2. Enter the Liability Rate & Liability Factor at which the code will be paid
    3. Once completed, click Save and Close

Running the Accrued Liability Report

*Please note that this process is applicable for the above roles except for the Attendance Administrator role

Navigate to: Attendance / Reports/Info / Accrual Liability

  1. Select a Fiscal Year from the drop-down menu
  2. Enter a Calculation Date
  3. Click Update Calculation Date
  4. Filter the results (if necessary) and click the Export button above the grid to generate a record of your results
