Tasks are specific actions that need to be completed by a new, existing or departing employee, depending on the position. Task types can be notifications, process forms, manual tasks, etc. They can be initiated automatically or manually depending on the need to wait for a previous task to complete. Tasks are aligned with Profiles and Profiles can be assigned to Job Postings.
Applicable Roles:
- Administrator
- HR Administrator
- HR Team
It is recommended to create all Tasks first, then go onto create your profiles. A Profile is name of the position; Tasks are what each position needs to do - these can be shared across many profiles. See Creating and Editing Profiles – SchoolFront for detailed instructions on Profiles.

Creating Tasks
Navigate to Task Managment - Task Profiles - Tasks:
Select "New Task" to begin creating Tasks:
*Select Task Type FIRST, as it adjusts your fields based on the type of task you are creating.
Enter the following information:
- Task Name
- Task Type: This is a pre-defined drop-down field that is associated to the Task name. Each Task Type will display different fields, please see Profile Tasks: Task Types – SchoolFront for detailed information on each Task Type.
- Task Descriptions: Enter information that is pertinent or important to know about the Task
- Task Type Configuration: This will also vary depending on the Task Type
Example (Task Type = Digital Form):
When completed, click Insert or Insert and Add Another. You may re-use Tasks across various Profiles.
Editing Tasks
Navigate to Tasks and select the Task that you wish to edit by selecting the magnifying glass to the left of the name. Once selected, click "edit" in the details tab:
