In SchoolFront, Human Resources can customize the Employee Dashboard that employees see upon logging into SchoolFront. This includes the District Heading, the Upcoming Deadlines section, and the Helpful Links section of the Dashboard.

Pre-Requisite Information
During the configuration of your district's SchoolFront platform, the Solution Architect working with the district will initially configure the Employee Dashboard with the district's name and logo at the top of the dashboard. Other information like the district address, phone number, website and link to TEACH may also be included at this time, along with important links in the "Helpful Links" section. For further information or help with these items - please reach out to your Solution Architect or Administrator with SchoolFront.
Please Note:
You cannot modify the "Items Requiring Your Attention" section, as that is a system-functioning section based on your role, and what is assigned to you within the system.

Updating the Header with Important Information
If there are important reminders or time sensitive/important information to post on the Employee Dashboard of SchoolFront, Human Resources can do this right below the district's logo and name:
- From the left navigation menu, select "My HR Settings"
- The first section of the Introduction Text box, is the heading information that has already been set and reflected on the Dashboard (do not edit this area):
- Below the district heading is where any information that needs to be posted can be entered - in this example, content would be added under the red box where the text says "Helpful Tips"
- This is similar to using a Word document, as text added can be formatted using the formatting keys at the top of the heading box

When complete, scroll to the bottom and click "Save"

To see the result, click the "home" icon above the left navigation menu, which will refresh back to the Employee Dashboard:
Updating Upcoming Deadlines
If there are deadlines that employees should be reminded of, these can be posted in the "Upcoming Deadlines" section of the Employee Dashboard. This is helpful in reminding the district employees about deadlines for Board Agenda items, or Open Enrollment deadlines, etc.
- From the left navigation menu, select "My HR Settings"

In My HR Settings, find the section "Upcoming Deadlines":
- Enter the upcoming deadlines to be posted (as shown above) using the formatting buttons in this section to change text color, boldness, alignment, etc.

When complete, scroll to the bottom and click "Save"

To view the changes to the Upcoming Deadlines section, click the "home" icon above the left navigation menu, which will refresh back to the Employee Dashboard:
Updating Helpful Links
The Helpful Links section of the Employee Dashboard allows your district to include external website links, documents, videos and SchoolFront pages such as Available Forms. The following are some examples of the content that is typically used in this section of the dashboard. Please note that instructions will vary depending on the type you are including.
- Open Enrollment Informational Documents (during Open Enrollment periods)
- How-To instructions for Tracker Reviewers, or other common How-To tasks

- Webinar links
- Links to Live Streams for graduations, etc.

Adding a Link to a Document/Video File
The document or video file must be saved first to the district's File Repository:
- From the left navigation menu, select "File Repository/Files"

Click on "New File" at the top of the page
- Select the appropriate folder category from the drop-down menu
- Either drag/drop the document into the Associated File(s) box or click inside the box (below the text) to choose the document from your directory
- Click Insert
- Highlight the link under the "Unsecured Public URL" heading and copy it
- In the left Navigation Menu, select "My HR Settings"

Find the "Helpful Links" section on the right and enter your cursor in the box where your new link will appear (circled) and click the hyperlink icon in the formatting box:
- In the "Link" pop-up window, paste the URL that you copied in Step #6 in the URL field

In the Display Text field, type the link name that employees should see on the Dashboard for this link and click the "Target" Tab

From the Target drop-down menu, select "New Window (_blank)" and click "OK"

Scroll to the bottom of My HR Settings and click "Save"

To view the link as it appears in the Helpful Links section, click the "home" icon above the left navigation menu, which will refresh back to the Employee Dashboard:
Adding a Link to a Website
Website links can be added in this section to make it easier for employees to find what they need. The steps in this process can be used to link other pages in SchoolFront as well, such as the Available Forms page (for employee self-service).
- In a separate browser window, locate the website page that you wish to link
- Highlight and copy the URL address for the website
- In your SchoolFront browser window, navigate to My HR Settings from the left navigation menu
- Repeat Step #'s 8 - 12 in Adding a Link to a Document (above) but instead of pasting a link from the File Repository, the website URL you copied will be pasted in the URL field in step 9.
